Tuesday night semi-final clash was laced with tensed mood all through with Spain snatching a hard-earned victory against tactical France in the ongoing European Championship in Munich, Germany.
With the victory which saw a 16-year-old Lamine Yamal scoring a stunner, Spain will surely face the winner between England and Netherlands, another semi-final cracker in waiting, in a final decider slated for the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Already, Spain has won all six games at Euro 2024 and is chasing its fourth European championship.
The most recent victorious outings were at consecutive tournaments in 2008 and 2012.
How French Cookies Crumbled
France took the lead within 10 minutes, but Spain responded with two goals in quick succession just 15 minutes later to take the lead they’d never surrender.
Spain’s Yamal scored a stunning long-distance goal as the equalizer in the 21st minute, with Dani Olmo finding the back of the net in the 25th.
Yamal has now become the tournament’s youngest player ever to score.
His eye-catching display even at his club Barcelona has widened at a bigger stage.
