Africa’s football governing body, the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has scheduled between June 24 and July 8, 2023 for this year’s U23 AFCON tournament.
According to CAF, the tournament which will produce qualified men football teams for the 2024 Olympic Games, will be staged in Morocco.
The teams will then proceed for the Games slated for Paris, France.
Nigeria’s Olympic Eagles were knocked out of the tournament by the Junior Syli National of Guinea 2-0 on aggregate in the final qualifying rounds of the U23 competition few weeks ago.
Qualified teams including host Morocco have commenced preparation for the competition.
Aside host, Egypt, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Mali and Niger qualified for the tournament.
