Nigerian international and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has made the final 10 shortlist for the 2023 CAF Player of the Year award.
CAF announced the final 10 shortlist on their X handle on Friday.
According to CAF, “The ultimate winner of each category will be decided after votes from a voting panel consisting of CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, Head Coaches & Captains of Member Associations and clubs involved in the group stages of the Interclub competitions.”
Other players who made the list are current holder and Senegalese captain Sadio Mane, Liverpool and Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, PSG and Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi.
Al-Hilal and Morocco player Yacine Bounou as well as Al Ahli and Algerian player Riyad Mahrez are in.
Also in the race for the award are Manchester United and Morocco player Sofyan Amrabat; Besiktas and Cameroonian international Vincent Aboubakar; Napoli and Cameroonian player Zambo Aguissa; as well as Sevila and Moroccan player Youssef En-Nesyri.
There are also shortlist for young player, goalkeeper, club, national team among others.
This year’s CAF Player award will take place in Marrakech, Morocco on December 11, 2023.
