Two heavyweights – Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will engage in an undisputed title fight sometimes in March, 2023.
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, who revealed this in an interview with IFL TV said no venue has been picked for the showdown.
The Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia have been touted as a potential location.
But Fury’s man insisted that no decision had been made over the venue to date, while admitting that the fight would take place where both Fury and Usyk can make the most money.
“The date will probably be in March. That’s basically where we’re at, early March.
“But no location has been finalised, once we get the fight done then the rest will just fall into place, we’re still negotiating as to the site but until we’ve got the fight done then we’ve got nothing.
“Let’s get the fight done and then get to where it’s going to take place. You never know, it could take place at Wembley.
“The decision will be made with the site very quickly because we want to get it on in March, and if we want it to go on in March it has to go on sale soon, no matter where it takes place.
“We are not going to mess around and put one against the other, it is going to be about where the boys can make the most money,” he said.
Usyk holds the WBA, WBO, IBF and The Ring magazine belts, while Fury, 34, has the WBC title.
The winner of a potential clash would become the unequivocal heavyweight world champion.
Usyk’s manager Egis Klimas claimed last month that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and London were among possible locations for the fight.
While Warren said he was ‘pretty positive’ about an agreement being reached for the world heavyweight title fight, with a contract set to be issued.
The promoter admitted he was wary following the recent collapse in talks over a fight between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Fury and Usyk are both undefeated with a fight between the pair eagerly anticipated by fans.
The boxers faced off in the ring after Fury’s win against Derek Chisora on December 3, 2022.
