South Africa has been picked to host the 2024 edition of African Minifootball Confederation (AMC) also known as African Nations Cup.
This was disclosed in in a letter dated April 18, 2023, signed by Johannesburg Commissioner for Art and Culture, Alexanda Mkhise, and addressed to the AMC President, Achraf Ben Salha.
The letter reads, “We are honoured to be presented with the opportunity to host African Minifootball Nations Cup in our country and more honoured to be chosen as the host city. With long discussions with South African Minifootball Association representatives we have agreed to host the tournament in our municipality of Johannesburg.
“We formally agreed on the of 22 to 28 April 2024 to host the championship. With this letter we will support the championship with all that is necessary to host a successful tournament like funding, visa support and transportation. We hope to host a successful and best tournament to help the growth of Minifootball going forward.”
Already, the South African government has assured of total support in visa facilitating, financially, transportation and otherwise for the growth of the game in Africa.
Nigeria hosted the tournament in 2021.
