Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Bayelsa State Government.
The deal was sealed at the EXCO Chambers of the Bayelsa Government House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Speaking shortly after the signing, Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, Engr. Simbi Wabote noted that the Federal Government through the Board, is bringing its developmental strides to Bayelsa State.
According to Engr. Wabote, the agreement is for the NCDMB to supply the Bayelsa State Government House with uninterrupted power from the Board’s 10MegaWatts gas-fired independent power plant situated at Elebele.
“We all know power is a huge challenge and when you have power, everybody will come to work on time and be productive, and this will have direct, indirect and induced effect which translates into a lot of jobs, as far as we at NCDMB is concerned as maintaining the gas lines will be a job for Bayelsans,” he noted
The Executive Governor, Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri thanked the Board for the agreement and hoped for more collaborations.
Accompanying the Executive Secretary to the signing of the PPA Agreement, was Barr. Mohammed Babaginda Umar, Director, Legal Services; Engr. Naboth Onyesoh, Manager, Cooperate Communications; Mr. Obinna Ezeobi, Deputy Manager, Media & Publicity; Mr. |ta Nyoki, Supervisor, Community/Government Relations Officer and Mr. Ifeanyi N. Nwokemodo, Senior Officer, Cooperate Communications Division.
