28 more abducted students of the Bethel Baptist Secondary School in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have regained their freedom.
Kaduna state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN), Joseph Hayab confirmed the release of the students on Sunday, July 25.
Meanwhile, it is not yet clear whether the bandits released them for ransom or they were rescued by security operatives or escaped by themselves.
It would be recalled that a total of 121 students were abducted from their hostels by bandits on July 5.
The bandits later demanded a ransom of ₦60 ransom for the release of the students
On July 12, one of the students, Abraham Aniya was rescued by security operatives alongside two other victims who were kidnapped along Kaduna-Kachia road.
A week after, two other students escaped when they were tasked to go and fetch firewood from a nearby forest.
Plus or minus, with the latest release, at least 90 pupils are still held up by bandits.
