Four more abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School in Damishi, Chikun LGA of Kaduna State, have regained their freedom.
This was made known by the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State, John Hayab.
“Yes, another four students escaped from their abductors on Sunday, July 25, and have been reunited with their parents,” he said.
He said that despite the latest development, 83 students are still in captivity.
It would be recalled that a total of 121 students were abducted when bandits invaded the school on July 5.
Bandits had on Sunday released 28 of the abducted students who have since reunited with their parents.
On July 12, one of the students, Abraham Aniya was rescued by security operatives alongside two other victims who were kidnapped along Kaduna-Kachia road.
A week after, two other students escaped when they were tasked to go and fetch firewood from a nearby forest.
This brings the total number of students who have regained their freedom after the school’s kidnapping incident to 38.
