Mamelodi Sundowns and Sporting Club Casablanca will on Sunday engage themselves in the CAF Women’s Champions League (WCL) final in Korhogo, Cote d’Ivoire with $400,000 prize money awaiting overall winners.
While Sundowns are former champions of the competition in its third edition, Casablanca are debutants.
According to CAF, the runners-up will take home $250, 000.
Mamelodi Sundowns have appeared in all Finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021 and 2022.
They won the inaugural event in 2021 and finished second in 2022 after losing to another Moroccan side, ASFAR.
The men version of Mamelodi Sundowns are the defending Champions of the CAF Champions League and maiden African Football League.
Sporting Club Casablanca, on the other side, are appearing in their first final.
They advanced to the final after eliminating Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
