American gangster rapper 50 cent has disclosed that he would jump at an opportunity to square off against his old ally Floyd Mayweather in a celebrity boxing bout but reveals his weight could be pose a problem.
The controversial hip hop artiste said he could challenge the pound-for-pound boxing king if only he accepts the condition to fight him without having to cut down to 150lbs.
50 cent whose real name is Curtis Jackson insisted that the least he could make weight is 180Ibs and would step into the ring with Mayweather if the boxer agrees to fight him.
The last time Mayweather fought in the ring was in an exhibition contest against Japanese kick-boxer Tenshin Nasukawa after he retired from professional boxing in August 2017.
The Money man as he is fondly called has never fought at a weight higher than 154lbs. Mayweather made the super-welterweight limit when he took on Miguel Cotto in May 2012.
But, it looks like the former friends would settle their rivalry in the ring in no distant time – having trolled each other on social media in recent years.
“I don’t think I could make weight though, 50 cent said on V-103’s The Morning Culture.
“I’d fight Floyd (Mayweather) if I could get down there. Or he’d just have to let me not get down to 150.
“I tried I looked like a homeless person. I could make it down to probably, like 180.”
In 2019, 50 weighed 160lbs after an extreme weight cut to star in a movie. However, it doesn’t sound like he’s prepared to make such sacrifice again – offering to meet the retired boxer at 180lbs.
Meanwhile Mayweather, on his path, has agreed to fight Logan Paul who carries a huge weight advantage.
