A former Ghanaian footballer, Raphael Dwamena, on Saturday collapsed and died during a league match in Albania.
Reports revealed that Dwamena who p,played in the La Liga for Levante and Real Zaragoza suffered cardiac arrest before he passed on.
The sad incident happened during a game between his side, Egnatia and Partizani.
It was gathered that the 28-year-old, who was the top scorer in the Albanian league with nine goals, suffered a heart attack and collapsed in the first half of the match.
Dwamena had previously received a diagnosis of a long-standing heart issue, and had experienced a cardiac arrest during a crucial OFB Cup round of 16 match against TSV Hartberg two years ago.
He was called into the senior team as part of the 30-man squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations, but was dropped from the final 23-man squad.
He made his international debut on June 11, 2017, in an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia, where he scored a brace to mark the new era of youngsters being introduced into the national team.
