Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has been urged to restore former Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil to the first team.
The call was made on Thursday, December 3, as Arsenal defeated Rapid Wien 4 – 1 in the Europa League in which fans were allowed to enter the stadium for the first time since March.
One Gunners’ fan was spotted raising up a banner from the stand; urging Arteta to bring Ozil back to the team.
Ozil, who is currently the club’s highest earner has not played a single game for the North London side since March this year.
There have been reports linking the World Cup winner with a move away from the club he spent over three seasons due to lack of game time.
However, former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seamen explained that Arteta is putting to waste Ozil’s talent, according to Daily Mail.
”I am surprised Arteta is choosing to leave out Mezut Ozil because he’s a player of quality.
”I feel something’s gone on personally between the two of them, because to leave him out, and on the money he’s on is a big statement and for me it’s a bit of a waste, because he’s still a quality player.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal are currently occupying 14th position on the Premier League table with 13 points after 10 games played this term.
