President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima, has been conditionally released following his arrest by the country’s anti-corruption agency.
Brima was taken into custody on Friday over allegations of financial mismanagement.
His release was granted to allow him to participate in the Federation’s regular conference.
Emerging details revealed that one of the key issues under investigation is an unaccounted sum of $720,000 deposited into his personal account between 2021 and 2024.
Brima’s predecessor, Isha Johansen, faced a similar fate in 2016—arrested, indicted, and later fully acquitted in 2019.
Her legal ordeal led to an eight-month FIFA suspension for Sierra Leone.
