Abductors of the eight members of the ‘go a fishing’ evangelism team of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Kaduna State, have told leadership of the Church that they want a N50 million ransom in exchange for the members.
Public Relations Officer in the Kaduna Province of the Church, Alao Joseph confirmed to newsmen that the abductors had called the Church’s Regional Pastor to table their demand.
It would be recalled that the eight members of the Church were abducted along the Kachia-Kafanchan highway on Friday evening while travelling in the church’s bus.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, yesterday urged the Kaduna State Government to swing into action immediately and secure their release.
While their exact location is not yet known, Joseph also confirmed that the kidnap took place at about 7pm on Friday.
However, the police command in Kaduna said it has launched a search for the victims.
