Barring any change in plans, Italian giants AC Milan have intensified moves to secure the young Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika as primary transfer target for the team.
Onyedika was one of the best players in the Danish League last season who won the league’s Young Player of the Year Award.
The yet-to-be-capped Nigerian is top of the list of the players AC Milan have monitored and the Italian club will make a move anytime from now, according to Pietro Mazzara of the Milan News.
The Milan News reported that; “The discussion linked to the purchase of the midfielder is taking place, regardless of what the results of Sandro Tonali’s exams will be.
“Raphael Onyedika is currently the primary objective to strengthen the midfield department. The player born in 2001 of Midtllyand is at the top of the list of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. The other options that have emerged in recent days are colder to date,”
Onyedika enjoyed another great season at Midtllyand last term and was instrumental to how they got a European ticket.
The former FC Ebedei player is expected to cost Milan under €10m and will fancy a move to the Serie A and one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have opened talks with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy over a new contract.
Mendy was one of the Blues stars earmarked for an improved deal following their Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital takeover.
Already, negotiations are underway, following the initial discussions.
Reports suggest that there is significant distance between the parties and their current starting positions.
Mendy is two years into the five-year agreement he penned on joining Chelsea from Rennes in 2020.
