The Super Eagles of Nigeria will square up against Tunisia in the Round of 16 of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, 23 January 2021.
The Carthage Eagles booked their place to the knockout phase of the competition as one of the four third-placed countries after a shock 1-0 loss to the Gambia on Thursday night.
Prior to their last Group F showdown against the Scorpions, the North Africans needed a win to finish second as runners-up.
However, It was Ablie Jallow superb left-footed strike from inside the box that sent the debutant into the knockout stage.
The last time Nigeria faced Tunisia in the knockout stages of the competition was in 2006. The Super Eagles came out victorious in the quarter-final encounter via penalties.
In a recent AFCON clash involving both teams, Nigeria came out on top again — in a third-place match courtesy of a 1-0 victory to win bronze in Egypt.
