Lorient midfielder Innocent Bonke has been declared fit for Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup qualifiying fixture against Sao Tome and Principe.
Bonke picked up the injury during the friendly game between Nigeria and Mexico last month.
The former Malmo player missed the team’s subsequent friendly defeat to Ecuador and Thursday’s clash against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
Bonke however joined team training for the first time on Friday night which put him in the frame to feature against Sao Tome and Principe.
Meanwhile, assistant Captain of the team has travelled back to London to have further test on the injury he sustained in the game against Sierra Leone on Thursday.
Troost-Ekong suffered a muscle injury as Nigeria kicked off their qualification campaign with a 2-1 win over the Leone Stars.
The Watford centre-back picked up the injury while intercepting a pass from Sierra Leone winger Kamil Conteh in the 80th minute.
Keneth Omeruo will be expected to be the former Udinese star direct replacement against Sao Tome and Principe.
The Super Eagles will fly out from Abuja to Morocco on Saturday via a special flight.
They will return to the country Tuesday.
