The Crocodiles of Lesotho held the Squirrels of Benin Republic to a goalless draw this afternoon in the reverse fixture of the AFCON qualifiers in Group L at the Setsoto stadium.
Benin Republic had won 1-0 against Lesotho at the Stade Charles de Gaulle, in the first leg to boost their chances of qualifying for the tournament in 2021; thanks to Jodel Dossou’s 24th-minute goal that ensured they pick the desired three points at home.
However, Thabo Senong’s Crocodiles stalled the squirrels this time, as victory in the game would have placed them at the top ahead of Nigeria with nine points.
The Super Eagles, who are now point tied with Benin Republic, will hope to go pass the Squirrels with a convincing victory Sierra Leone; after a disappointing first leg encouter at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium on Friday.
The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will aim to cause an upset against Gernot Rohr’s men who are on a redemption mission in Freetown.
