Record-holding Al Ahly will face Zamalek in an Egyptian final on Sunday after defeating CFC with a score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-21) on Friday in the ongoing 2025 African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship.
This match was significant for the defending champions, Ahly, as they took on their rivals, CFC. Ahly established an early advantage, showcasing powerful hitting to secure the first set with a score of 25-15.
In the second set, Ahly continued to demonstrate their competitive spirit, initially taking the lead.
Their well-structured play and solid defence allowed them to outmanoeuvre CFC, ultimately winning the set 25-23. Ahly’s blocking capabilities and adaptability prevented CFC from gaining any substantial momentum in the third set.
Ahly executed a strategic display, energising the crowd and drawing inspiration from their support.
The score was tied at 7-7 as CFC appeared poised for a comeback.
However, Ahly regrouped effectively, stunning the Tunisian team and clinching the set 25-21.
With this victory, Ahly carries significant momentum into the final on Sunday, brimming with confidence.
Up to 16 clubs took part in the continental championship.
