Nigerian international Victor Boniface has continued his impressive performance in the Bundesliga by banging more goals.
Boniface who is fast becoming an established striker while playing for Bayern Leverkusen, has won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award a record three times consecutively – August, September and October.
European Hot Demand
Already, top clubs in Europe are after his services as he is currently ranked among top 5 players across big leagues in the continent.
After Sunday’s action before the international break – the third of the current season- Boniface is the fourth player in Europe’s Top 5 leagues with the most goal contributions only behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and VfB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, who are first, second and third respectively.
Goal Scoring Exploits
Heritage Times HT reports that his exploits are evident three months since joining Bayer Leverkusen, from Union Berlin.
He has made 17 goals contributions (11 goals and six assists) at Leverkusen.
Only Kane with 28 goal contributions (21 goals and seven assists), Haaland with 21 goal contributions (17 goals and four assists) and Guirassy, who also boasts an impressive 18 goal contributions (16 goals and two assists) have gone ahead of him.
In any case, it is only Kane who has more assists than him.
Jointly occupying the fifth position on the goal contributions chart are Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham who has 13 goals and three assists and Kylian Mbappe with 15 goals and one assist across all competitions.
Short International Spell
The Nigerian-born player is currently with the country’s senior men team, Super Eagles, preparing to face Lesotho in the kick-off of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In September, Boniface made his debut for Super Eagles, starting from the bench during the final African Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho.
He later made the starting lineup when he featured for the national team in an international friendly against Saudi Arabia in Portugal.
