Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen is on the verge of another historic feat, after he was nominated for Serie A Player of the Month award for February.
The Napoli forward is mostly going to clinch another league coveted award in successive style, having won same in January 2023.
If he eventually does, it will be his first since he arrived Italy three years ago.
Osimhen is on the verge of breaking Christiano Ronaldo’s record of scoring in eight consecutive games as Napoli welcome Lazio at home on Friday night.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles forward, who has been in a sensational form for the Serie A runaway leaders this season, bagged five goals in four league games in February.
Osimhen, who is in fine form after the World Cup, scored 10 league goals, with five coming in the month of January, as he leads the goal scoring chart of the Italian top flight with 19 goals from 20 league games.
Alongside Osimhen in the list of nominees is his teammate Kvaratskahelia, who scored three goals from four games last month, Juventus’s Angel Di Maria, Miranchuk of Torino and Lecce’s Baschirotto.
