Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has again refused a move to Saudi Arabia amidst repeated reports that Chelsea and Arsenal are still interested in capturing him.
This is as Osimhen’s agent vehemently said the reigning African Footballer of the year has unfinished work in Europe.
Speaking on Monday, the Napoli hitman’s agent, Roberto Calenda, said, “Victor is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor still has so much to do IN Europe.
“Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction.
“He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club’s decisions. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, 8th at the Ballon d’Or. There is need for respect and balance”.
Osimhen had rejected offers from Saudi Arabia even as Napoli inserted a £109m release clause in Osimhen’s contract when extending his deal in December of last year, but no club has come forward to pay it despite their interest in selling.
Arsenal reportedly want a new forward before Friday’s transfer deadline, but there are no indications that they have made an official bid.
Similarly, Chelsea are reportedly in talks over a loan deal for Osimhen while being keen on sending Lukaku the other way.
Saudi club Al Ahli recently submitted a €65m bid for Osimhen.
