It was another dose of defeat for Manchester United in the English Premier League as Ruben Amorim lost for the fourth time in his nine games in charge of the troubled Old Trafford club.
This time, the outcome was a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
Amorim’s side lost following their 4-3 League Cup quarter-final exit at Tottenham on Thursday.
Bournemouth took a first-half lead through Dean Huijsen before Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo netted after the interval to complete a dismal afternoon for Amorim, who replaced the sacked Erik ten Hag in November.
Meanwhile, Arsenal set a new goal-scoring record in English football. This followed a 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
Gabriel Jesus scored twice in the first half, while Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice also scored a goal each.
This win saw the Gunners become the first top-flight side to score five or more goals in six different away games in all competitions in a single calendar year.
In February this year, Mikel Arteta’s men defeated West Ham and Burnley in back-to-back league away fixtures by a margin of 6-0 and 5-0 respectively.
Then on March 4, they thumped Sheffield United 5-0 at Bramall Lane.
During the 2024-25 campaign, they hammered Sporting CP 5-1 in Lisbon in the Champions League and then recorded 5-2 and 5-1 wins over West Ham and Palace in the Premier League.
