Latest FA Cup fixtures have revealed that Arsenal will kick off their quest to lift a 15th title when they host Liverpool at Emirates Stadium in the third round.
The third round draw was made on Sunday afternoon as clubs from the Premier League and EFL Championship joined this season’s competition.
The Gunners last faced Liverpool in the competition back in February 2014 when they ran out 2-1 victors, which was the 17th time both teams have locked horns in the FA Cup.
Current holders of the oldest Cup competition in the world, Manchester City, will host Huddersfield Town and last season’s finalist Manchester United will be guest to 2013 winners Wigan Athletics.
Other pairing will see Chelsea host Preston, Crystal Palace will entertain Everton, Burnley will visit Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United will be at Sunderland for the Tyneside derby.
Third Round Days
The 32 third round proper ties will take place across the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 6 and 7 January, 2024.
Teams victorious in the third round proper will land £105,000 from the Emirates FA Cup prize fund.
Further Citizens EPL Dip
Meanwhile, Manchester City dropped points in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad on Sunday.
The result means City have now drawn their last three Premier League games.
Going into Sunday’s clash, the Treble winners had drawn 4-4 with Chelsea before a 1-1 draw against Liverpool.
The Citizens are now in third place on 30 points, three points behind leaders Arsenal and one off second placed Liverpool.
Spurs occupy fifth spot on 27 points in the league table.
Chelsea, Liverpool Soar
Earlier, both Liverpool and Chelsea recorded victories against Fulham and Brighton respectively.
