Arsenal’s clean sheet record in the uefa Champions League remained unmatched after Manchester City conceded their first goal this season in a 2-1 victory over Dortmund on Tuesday.
The Gunners remain the only team with the record of 995 minutes without conceding a goal, a feat which was set during the 2005/2006 season.
Pep Guardiola’s men were on the verge of equaling Arsenal’s record having gone 788 minutes without conceding until Marco Reus found the net for Dortmund.
Reus became the first player to score a Champions League goal against City since Luis Díaz for Porto in October.
According to sports analytic company, OptaJoe, it means Arsenal’s record of going 995 minutes without conceding which was set in the 2005/06 campaign remain intact.
During the campaign Arsenal went all the way to the final but lost 2-1 to Barcelona after playing a large part of the game with 10 men.
