But according Todo Fichajes, the Gunners are leading the way, having already entered negotiations with the La Liga giants with the deal reported to be worth £34m.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has cleared up the future of Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka.
The Gunners former captain has been linked with a switch to AS Roma this summer.
The Italian outfit’s new boss, Jose, Mourinho, knows Xhaka well from his time managing rivals Tottenham in the Premier League.
