Ghana Midfielder Thomas Partey has been sacked from the camp of the Black Stars after turning up late for training.
Coach CK Akonnor’s men were scheduled to take on Morocco in an international friendly on Tuesday only for the 27-year-old to arrive camp two days before the team departed for Rabat.
Akonnor wielded the disciplinary axe by sacking the former Atletico Madrid midfielder from his squad to face the Atlas Lions.
According to multiple reports, the Arsenal of England midfielder felt reluctant to join the rest of his colleagues while preparations for the friendly games was on despite arriving in his native country for holidays.
Reports also confirmed that Partey’s attitude has drawn negative judgments over his commitment and leadership role in the team.
Meanwhile, Captain Andre Ayew, was handed some time off due to his involvement in the English Championship play-offs will join the rest of his colleagues for the trip.
After the game against Morocco, the Black Stars will face Ivory Coast on June 12 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
