Nigerians as of Saturday morning could not access the social media network, except through Virtual Private Network (VPN) providers, who afford the opportunity to establish a protected network connection when using public networks.
As such, their Internet footprint does not bear Nigeria but the country the VPN changes to.
Similarly, Twitter trends reflect happenings of the country which the VPN changes to.
Are you using VPN and desperately need to see what’s trending in Nigeria? Then do these.
1. Go to settings
2. Uncheck ‘show content in this location.’
3. Ensure ‘Explore Location’ is set to Nigeria
4. Trends will henceforth reflect happenings in Nigeria
