Former Blues left back, Ashley Cole, has singled out two Chelsea players for praise following Saturdays 4 – 1 victory over Sheffield United in the English Premier League.
Chelsea continued in their fine run of form as goals from Abraham, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Timo Werner earned Frank Lampard’s men the deserved three points.
However, Cole was full of praise for, Hakim Ziyech who created six chances and two assists in the game; he noted that the Moroccan’s combination with Reece James was very encouraging for Lampard’s side.
“He [Ziyech] looks fit, he looks like he’s enjoying the way Frank plays and he’s enjoying playing with his team-mates here,’ Cole told Sky Sports. ‘He pulled the strings today. He’s a big player for Chelsea.
“I think the relationship him and Reece James had today – I think they’re really starting to forge a good partnership. He can pop inside and come inside and give Reece James space to attack. It’s difficult to mark when you come in those little pockets and areas.
“Getting on his left foot, great runners – Timo Werner loves to run off centre-back shoulders and with the quality he has… its exciting watching them in attacking form,” Cole added.
Speaking about the win, Ziyech who won the man of the match, said, “I feel comfortable here in the team and with the squad and all my team-mates so I think that’s why I feel comfortable here,’ said Ziyech.
“I think we played a good game, the first 10 minutes was difficult – we started a bit sloppy but after 1-0 we could control the game and couldn’t score more goals at that point but we played a good game.”
