Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has been ruled out of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.
The attacker picked up a Grade 2 Medial Collateral Ligament strain in the 2-1 loss to South Africa on Monday.
The Barcelona star has now been ruled out for the rest of the competition by the medical team of the Super Falcons.
Meanwhile, Oshoala will travel back to Spain on Thursday to continue treatment with her club.
“She underwent a test on Wednesday ahead of their second game on Thursday and was confirmed to have sustained
“She will be out for at least six weeks, which means she is out of the tournament,” an official of the Super Falcons told Peoples Gazzette.
Nigeria plays Botswana on Thursday and would be hoping to secure their first points of the showpiece tournament.
