Reports from London suggest that Bayern Munich and Tottenham have reached agreement in principle for England captain Harry Kane to play in Bundesliga in the coming 2023/24 football season.
The deal is reportedly worth more than 100m euros (£86.4m).
Kane, 30, has one year left on his contract with Spurs and was left to take a decision about his future.
Kane’s Standout Exploits
The forward is Tottenham’s all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.
Kane, who will likely head to Germany for medicals within 24 hours, was linked with Manchester United earlier this summer before Bayern made him their main target.
The striker’s future in London has been uncertain for several seasons while a number of Bayern bids were rejected earlier this summer.
Most recently, Spurs turned down an offer on Monday and the Bundesliga champions suggested on that occasion an unsuccessful bid would force them to move on to other targets.
But with Kane unwilling to sign a new deal with Spurs, the club appear to have decided to sell him, as the best option, rather than losing him for free next year.
Kane has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times – in 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2020-21 – since making his debut for the club in 2012, inching closer to breaking Alan Shearer’s record.
The only thing lacking is that he has never won any title with Tottenham.
Bayern Difference
The situation is different with Bayern Munich, a Bundesliga outfit that are used to winning the title, the latest being when they won 33rd silverware last season, and 11 consecutive times.
They have also won UEFA Champions League six times, while lifting the German Cup 20 times.
