Diego Costa has been released by his former club Atletico Madrid after both parties accepted the termination of his deal at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The striker had returned to Rojiblancos in 2018 but could not lay claim of a starting shirt since the arrival of Luis Suarez from Barcelona in the summer.
He has also been overlooked by Diego Simeone who seemed to prefer Portuguese sensation Joao Felix for the role of a strike partner to Suarez.
Costa wants more first-team action to boost his chances ahead of Spain’s campaign at the Euro 2021 tournament next summer.
And according to multiple reports, English Premier League club Arsenal are keen to bring the 32-year-old to the Emirates to add depth to the Gunners attack which already has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah
The former Chelsea hitman has seen just 207 minutes of football in La Liga this season.
