Naomi Osaka won her fourth grand slam title at the Australian Open on Saturday after defeating first-time finalist Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-3.
The Japanese reclaimed the title she won in 2019 to maintain a 100 percent record in major finals.
Osaka now has two titles to her name after winning in New York last September and has extended her winning-streak to 21, stretching back more than a year.
Brady, 25 struggled to handle her nerves in her semi-final victory over Karolina Muchova and a poor game allowed Osaka to break for 3-1.
Osaka will be No.2 in the next WTA rankings, behind only Ash Barty, while Barty will sit at a career-best No.13.
Osaka joins players including Caroline Wozniacki (2018), Angelique Kerber (2016) and Li Na (2014) as having saved match points on their way to the Australian Open title, after doing so in her fourth-round win over Garbine Muguruza.
