Bandits have abducted Islamiyya school pupils in Sakkai village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Heritage Times gathered that the incident happened on Tuesday when the armed men invaded the community, shooting sporadically to scare residents away before whisking the victims to a deep forest.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa said “the bandits were attacking the community before they saw those students and used the opportunity to kidnap them.
“Nine of the students were kidnapped but two of them were able to escape”, he added.
Northern Nigeria has been the epicentre of several security issues confronting the nation.
Bandits have continued to wreak havoc in many states of the region despite efforts by the Federal Government to curtail the trend.
