There are indications that Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are on the trail of one of Nigeria’s Golden Golden Eaglets, Yahaya Lawali.
Flood Of Interests
Aside Barcelona, Lawali, who was one of the brightest spot for Nigeria during the ongoing 2023 U17 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Algeria is also eliciting reported interest from other top clubs from other top clubs in parts of Europe.
Specially, the interested clubs are jostling to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Lawali’s Brief Exploits
Lawali, a right-back featured in all of the Golden Eaglets’ four games at the U-17 AFCON before they crashed out in the quarter-final.
While the Nigerian team remained in the competition, he won the Man of the Match award on two occasions.
The young lad was named Man of the Match against both Zambia and Morocco.
The 16-year-old who can also play as a left-back and midfielder, was also included in the group stage Best X1 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Team of the Group Stage was unveiled by the Tournament’s Technical Study Group (TGI) and published on CAF’s U-17 AFCON Twitter handle on Saturday.
