Nigeria on Friday conquered Uganda 71-67 in the semi-final basketball match to hit the final of the ongoing FIBA Africa U18 World Cup in South Africa.
The final berth particularly means that the Nigerian girls have booked the basketball World Cup ticket, alongside Mail.
Both countries will now square off in the final on Saturday.
Action-Packed Moment
Talking about how it all went down in the last four battle, the game lived up to the expectations, but it was the Nigerians who won the first quarter 21-20 and went ahead by halftime 45-39.
The Ugandans upped their game in the 3rd quarter but it was Junior D’Tigress who won again 61-54 before wrapping up the game in the final quarter 71-67.
Star Performance Like No Other
Nigerian Star girl Idubamo Beggi pulled all the stops on the continent to power Nigeria to the women’s basketball final.
The irrepressible ball handler scored a game high 23 points for the Nigerian side mostly known as J’Tigress.
Aside Beggi’s inspirational play, rebounding monster Abigail Isaac cleaned the boards on, game high, 14 occasions to aid the Nigerian team to the win.
2010 silver medallists, Nigeria, won one game in the Group Phase, a 107-30 outcome against Zimbabwe, but got a second chance at fighting for the title after making the last eight as one of the two best third-place finishers.
