Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
The termination of appointment was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mukhtar Gidado.
According to the statement, the dissolution is with immediate effect.
“The Governor has approved with immediate effect the dissolution of members of the State Executive Council and other political appointees that include, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (COS) Government House and all Special advisers,” the statement partly read.
He said “Advisers on Security, National and State Assembly Liaison, Social Investment and Special Adviser Media and Publicity are retained.
“All Commissioners are to handover the affairs of their ministries to their respective permanent secretaries, while the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (COS) Government House and other affected Special Advisers are to handover to the most senior permanent Secretary in the Government House who is equally directed to take inventory of government property.”
Mukhtar said Bala Mohammed thanked the affected political appointees for their meritorious service.

The dissolution comes just days after Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bala Bello, and all 23 commissioners with immediate effect.
He also suspended the Emir of Dansadau in Maru Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Hussaini Umar as well as the District Head of Nasarawa Mailayi in Birnin Magaji Local Government, Alhaji Bello Wakkala.
Speaking about the development, Matawalle said: “I dissolved the cabinet because after two years, it is time to reinvigorate my government for the second half of my tenure.”
