German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are making move to secure the services of Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, when transfer window opens in January, 2023.
The Nigerian international was heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium all summer following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest reportedly interested in acquiring his signature.
The speculation didn’t end following the closure of the transfer window and Fenerbahce were said to have been readying a bid last week, with the Turkish transfer window remaining open until last Friday.
Ndidi remained in the East Midlands and played a starring role in the 4-1 win over Southampton on Friday night, scoring his first league goal of the season as Leicester temporarily hit the top of the table.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the season, prompting more speculation that the Foxes could look to cash in January should they fail to agree an extension.
According to reports in Germany, Bayern have identified the 26-year-old as a player capable of filling their midfield role after missing out on Fulham’s Joao Palhinha in the final stages of the window.
