Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has praised the contributions of Nigerians in the United States, claiming they make up the best doctors in the country.
Speaking on Afric TV, Davido highlighted the remarkable impact of Africans in both professional and creative industries. He emphasized that Nigerians and other Africans have become central to global innovation, from medicine to entertainment.
“The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can search it,” he said, adding that African creativity shines in various sectors. “Even in my record label [Sony Music], Africans bring the best ideas. That shows that our imagination is off the grid. Netflix and Amazon Prime come to Africa to get movie ideas. Now, when you come on Netflix, you will see about two Nigerian movies in the top 10. Africa is next, trust me. I feel like we have everything but just missing a couple of things.”
Davido’s comments underline Africa’s growing influence on the global stage, particularly in music and film. However, while Nigerians are known for excelling in medicine abroad, available statistics do not conclusively support the claim that they are the best in America.
The remarks continue to stir discussions on the immense potential of Africans in shaping the future of global industries.
