Nigerian international Victor Boniface’s anticipated move from Bayer Leverkusen to Al Nassr is now off.
The Super Eagles attacker will remain with the Bundesliga winners after the Saudi Pro League club decided not to complete the transfer.
Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer specialist, confirmed this via his X account on Wednesday night.
Romano wrote: “Victor Boniface and Al Nassr, deal OFF.
“Nigerian striker won’t join the club. The deal was advanced but never completed, as Al Nassr never gave the final green light.”
“Al Nassr have instead decided to sign Jhon Durán from Aston Villa.
“Jhon Durán to Al Nassr, here we go! Story from earlier tonight confirmed as documents are being prepared.
“Aston Villa to receive €77m fixed fee plus add-ons. Long-term deal accepted by Durán.
“Medical booked for tomorrow, and then he will travel to Saudi right after,” Romano added in a separate tweet.
