Brazil have been crowned world champions for a record-extending sixth time after beating Argentina 2-1.
It was the first all-CONMEBOL FIFA Futsal World Cup final which happened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Brazil, who have won five out of the six finals they have appeared in, finished the tournament with seven wins from seven games and only six goals conceded, their best-ever defensive performance.
The South American nation had won the previous editions in 1989, 1992, 1996, 2008 and 2012.
In the third place match of this year’s version, Ukraine defeated France to grab bronze.
The performance was Ukraine’s best-ever FIFA Futsal World Cup finish; with a 7-1 victory against France – who were making their first ever appearance at the Finals.
Meanwhile, FIFA has approved a new football calendar.
In it, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will kick off a new era for club football across the world, with the top teams competing to be crowned the official FIFA club world champions.
FIFA Council also unanimously approved a consolidated vote at an extraordinary congress in December to award the 2030 World Cup finals to Morocco, Portugal and Spain (with kickoffs in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) and the 2034 finals to Saudi Arabia.
The world football governing body also sitting in congress approved and announced its 2025 calendar to include approval of the75th FIFA Congress to hold in Asunción, Paraguay, on May 15, 2025.
The body also approved the following dates for its 2025 event:
The approved events include hosting of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile – September 27 to October 19, 2025, FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco – October 17 to November 8, 2025, FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in Philippines – November 21 to December 7, 2025.
