Brazil has been endorsed as the host of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
This was disclosed by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) via its official website.
The football body also announced that the tournament will take place between 24 June and 25 July 2027.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “The FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 is already taking shape, and we can’t wait for the opening match on Thursday, 24 June 2027, and all the matches leading to the final on Sunday, 25 July 2027.
“This historic tournament will have a massive impact not only in South America but around the whole world, taking the women’s game to the next level in terms of participation and popularity.”
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be aiming to compete in the upcoming edition, having featured in every tournament since its inception in 1991.
