Everton forward Alex Iwobi will miss Nigeria’s World Cup play-off against Ghana in March.
The 25-year-old was sent off seven minutes after coming on as the Super Eagles crashed out of the Africa Cup of Nations, following a shock 1-0 defeat to Tunisia on Sunday.
Iwobi was dismissed after his yellow card for a challenge on Youssef Mskani was upgraded to a straight red car after VAR check.
Despite crashing out of the competition with Nigeria, Iwobi is expected to play no part in his side’s World Cup play-off against the Black Stars.
