President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Atuonwo Obinna as Chairman for the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA).
PPPRA is a federal government agency that determines and fixes the prices of petroleum products in Nigeria.
Revealing this in a issued statement, Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina said the president also approved the reappointment of Abdulkadir Saidu Umar as the executive secretary of PPPRA.
According to the statement, Obinna’s appointment is in accordance with Section 2 (1-3) and 3 (a) of the PPPRA (Establishment, ETC) Act 2003.
With the appointment, Obinna replaces Mohammed Buba who was appointed in 2016 as chairman of PPPRA, following the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) demand that the federal government reconstitute the agency’s board.
