It has now been confirmed that Nigeria won’t be part of the 2022 African Beach Soccer tournament scheduled for Mozambique as from October 21.
This was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday October 12, 2022.
Already, CAF has released a revised fixture for the competition following the withdrawal of Nigeria.
The withdrawal of Nigeria will see seven teams now compete for the ultimate prize at the fifth edition of Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations competition.
As it stands, Hosts Mozambique, Malawi and Morocco are the three teams in Group A.
Meanwhile, four teams make up Group B.
They are Senegal, Uganda, Madagascar, and Egypt.
The tournament will kickoff at Vilankulos Arena with a match between hosts Mozambique, 2021 AFCON runners-up, and Malawi whose participation is the first time.
The Beach Soccer AFCON final will take place on 28 October.
