The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has disclosed the official schedule for the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier.
Few days after CAF President, Patrice Motsepe, announced that the qualifier will take place in October, 2024, the competition department has now stated that the first round of the qualifier will take place between October 25 and 27.
The organisers also revealed that the second leg of the first round will happen on November 1 to 3.
The second round of the qualifier, according to the organisers, will be played on December 20 to 22, then 27 to 29 of the same month.
The organisers said since the three hosts are already taking three slots, an additional slot will be awarded for the other engaged teams of CECAFA.
Therefore, the total number of teams qualified to the final tournament will be increased to 19 teams.
The final tournament shall take place from February 1 to 28, 2025 in the three countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
