Nigeria’s representative and champions, Bayelsa Queens have arrived Casablanca, Morocco, for the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League game.
The Nigerian side departed Nigeria on Sunday through Murtala Muhammed International Airport aboard Royal Air Morocco and touched down Casablanca where they lodged at the Magic Village Sports Centre.
Coach of the club Domo Okara who was recently confirmed as substantive Manager, then told Heritage Times HT on Tuesday morning that they will continue their preparations ahead of the competition which will kick-off this weekend.
“We are in Morocco to win, having in mind it won’t be easy but we will give it all,” he said.
Bayelsa Queens will confront defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in their first game on Sunday October 30, 2022 at the Stade Grande de Marrakech.
The Nigerian girls will face TP Mazembe of Congo Democratic Republic in their second group game three days later.
Their final group game will be against Egypt’s Wadi Degla at the Stade Prince Heritier, Rabat on November 6.
The top two teams in the group will proceed to the semi-final.
The winner of the competition will smile home with $400, 000, while the runners-up will earn $250,000.
The two losing semi-finalists will get $200,000 each.
