Manchester City star Phil Foden expressed anger over a tweet that was published on his official Twitter account without his consent following Manchester City triumph over Dortmund on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old became the second player under the age of 21 to score in both legs of the competition quarter-final tie as City won 2-1 away without a recognized striker.
Shortly after Pep Guardiola’s men booked their place in the semi-finals, a picture of Foden went viral on social media with the words ‘@KMbappe are you ready?’
But the City star and his representatives were not happy with the tone of the tweet as he quickly asked for it to be taken down.
Though, the post had however already gained plenty of online traction and received a series of replies from online Twitter users, who questioned why Foden had appeared to immediately reach out to Kylian Mbappe.
This is not the first time a City player has had problems with those managing their social media.
Raheem Sterling ditched his old PR firm, Purple PR, after they leaked news that he was to captain England on his 50th cap in 2019.
Meanwhile, City’s win on Wednesday has set up a mouth-watering semi-final against PSG and their 22-year-old World Cup winner Mbappe, who is likely to pose the greatest danger to City’s chances of reaching their first final.
