The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) will kick-off February 1 next year.
This was disclosed by the President of CAF, Dr. Patrice Motsepe.
According to him, the competition will last till February 28, 2025 in Kenya.
The CAF President spoke after visiting various match venues in Kenya.
Ahead of the tournament, the first round of qualifiers will be played between the weekend of October 25 and 27, 2024.
CAF said it will communicate the stadiums and other venues to be used for the competition.
Senegal are the current champions of the CHAN after they defeated hosts, Algeria two years ago in Algiers.
The biennial competition is designed for players plying their trade within Africa’s domestic leagues.
