English Premier League side, Chelsea are reportedly in talks with Brazilian defender Thiago Silva for a possible contract extension at Stamford Bridge.
Silva joined Chelsea this summer for free from French side French side Paris Saint Germain and the 36-year-old has been impressive so far for Frank Lampard’s side.
Thus, the Blues are offering the former AC Milan man another one-year extension.
However, the good thing is, Chelsea already included a clause in his contract which will aid them keep the player for another year if they decide.
Silva’s performance has been nothing short of a stellar show and the Brazilian has been phenomenal on-and-off the pitch for the North Londoners.
Out of his nine appearances for the Blues, he has won six and drew three. Also, Chelsea have scored 25 goals and conceded 5 during the period.
The Brazilian came off the back of a shaky start in a debut fixture against West Brom in the Premier League and has since recovered to become towering figure in the defence for Chelsea.
His first goal against Sheffield United is nothing compared to his relished partnership with Kurt Zouma at the heart of Chelsea’s defence.
